MicroSD Storage

I just picked up the 8GB View for 60 bucks.  Excellent price for what you get!  I was wondering how large of a Memory card it takes?  Does speed of the card matter?  I don't want slow browsing.playback...

Any other tips I should know about purchasing a MicroSD card for this player?

 Thanks.

Re: MicroSD Storage

I just tested a 4GB SDHC card (class 6...under $10 at Newegg), and no troubles at all...not sure how the View would feel about a 8GB card.

On the positive side, the card's contents were added to the View's.  On the minus side, I've seen several complaints that adding the SD card lowers battery life...

Did battery time go down because of a card?

Don't know. Have the card since the beginning.

So, when you pop the card in with music, does all the music on the card get put into the different catagories?  Just like if the memory card wasn't there and you where dealing with internal memory?

Right now, my 8GB sansa shows up in windows and I can drag stuff to it.  What would happen if I put in a memory card?  Does a 2nd storage device show up, or does the Sansa windows drive just increase from 8GB to 16 (or whatever extra you get)?

Are you joking $60 for 8GB?I can buy x2 or more for $80

And as for speed it will not effect playback or browsing just transfer rate to microSD card.
