I realize forum members are more interested in bug fixes, firmware updates (if ever), etc. But I've also seen a few visitors here sitting on the fence re: ownership. Looks like a good entry-level price for someone interested in giving the View a spin. Disclosure: I picked up a refurb View around the same price last year from overstock.com, and it's holding up pretty well.

How do you figure a 1 year warranty on something that Newegg says only has their Standard Return Policy (which is 30 days)?

Sorry...should have noted it's 16GB!!! How did I miss that? Anyway, by my quick math, $79 for 16GB is ever so slightly cheaper than two 8GB units for $91.

Mmmm well you're right, but it's because they changed it. I logged in to my account and mine says I can still get it repaired for another year.

Sounds like someone messed up while posting the ad and you just happened to get in there before they corrected it. Refurbished items seldom have much of any warranty time (if any) from the place you purchase it from.
Also, be aware that SanDisk does not provide any warranty service/replacement at all for refurbished devices. SanDisk's own 1 year warranty only applies to new (not refurbed) devices.

For only $79 I suppose you can overlook the bugs. Unfortunately I paid $200 when I got my 16GB view and I expected better performance. I mean it is a functional MP3 player. it just randomly does not respond to button presses for several minutes sometimes, it gets about half the rated battery life. the album art does not always update properly.
