There is very good news regarding the fast forward/rewind issues observed with video files converted according to my tutorial. All the problems fade away when you use fuzemux instead of AVIMux-GUI! Thanks a lot, earthcrosser 
… Moreover fuzemux can run natively on Linux systems which cancels out the need for a wine installation (and all the hassles related to wine). I believe that - especially for Linux users - this is quite an improvement over the use of AVIMux-GUI.
I’m going to do some more testing and plan to release an upgraded pvc.sh shell script soon (to replace this one) and a Debian package which should ease installation of fuzemux/pvc.sh on any Debian based Linux distribution. Keep on watching this thread …
