Re: rockbox

Unfortunately, the newly released rockbox does not recognise the 1.02.31 firmware and will not install.

Are you sure its not working?  How did you try and install it?

I downloaded the latest mkamsboot that I could find but that made no difference. I did download the 1.02.26 firmware and installed using that - very happy with Rockbox although I haven't got embedded cue sheets in FLAC files working yet - probably just how I am accessing them.

HUGE news!

Also I see you have Linux versions of your installer ready to go.  Both 32- and 64-bit flavors, even.  Nice!

I'm going to try it right now.

(Fuze v2 owner)

Okay, I'm confused.  I downloaded and ran the installer, but it says Fuze v2 support is "unstable."  WTF?

Re: rockbox

The devs put the cart before the horse.  They announced the update BEFORE they put the binaries in place.  I got bitten the same way you did.

Putzes!

Re: rockbox

NOW it's up.  I'm Rockboxed on my Fuze V1 and copying several gigs of files to it.  I did this for gapless and the kicker for me was a working USB implementation (I hate half measures).  Hopefully I will not be disappointed the way I was a few years ago with their implementation for the Cowon X5.

Re: rockbox

The new version isn't up yet.  While there is a page (Rockbox 3.7 release page) touting today's Rockbox 3.7 release, the download link leads to the same, month-old release (1.2.8, 23 September 2010) that I downloaded earlier today.

I suppose it will take a day or three before the Rockbox guys get this fixed.  I waited months for complete v2 support, so I guess I can wait a few more days.

The download link you are referring to (1.2.8, 23 September 2010) is the Rockbox Utility itself, not the update to Rockbox for the players.Smiley Wink

Full USB support for the V2's and Clip+ is not yet ready , but now with my V1 Fuze, no more Sansa OF....plugging it into the computer boots right into Rockbox, so I no longer have to boot it manually into RB before plugging into the computer.
