Re: Sansa Fuze Firmware Update 01.02.31 & 02.03.31

MP3Gain does indeed solve the problem of low volume. With Democracy Now, I increase the Taget "Normal" Volume to 100.0 dB. This seemingly drastic increase brings the volume into a completely normal range. I have another free program that solves another problem. On the Fuze and other players, the title scrolls across the screen and, unless it is very short, you can't read the whole thing easily. On the other hand, the "Artist" and "Album" fields don't scroll but also don't contain useful information. The free program "Stamp ID3 Tag Editor" enables you to change all three of these fields. With Democracy Now, I use the feature that changes the "Title" to the file name, for example dn2010-0423-1.mp3. I then copy and paste this into the other two fields. Now, I can easily read the identifying information for the file on the screen of my player. You can get this program for free at nch.com.au/stampeditor. With these two fixes, I am very happy with the Fuze. I would like to suggest a Firmware update to allow bookmarks. It seems to me that this would be very easy to implement. The player already automatically saves the position of the file being played. It seems to me that the firmware could be easily changed to accommodate bookmarks on 20 or more files. Is this a good place for this recommendation, or should I start a new thread?

Because there was a law passed limiting the volume of electronic devices sold in that region. In order to keep in compliance with that law, Sandisk removed the option to set the volume to "High".

@ gwk1967:

There is the problem, thats not right.

It says only, that you must have the option to limit the high volume.

If you want to hear music loud, there must be a warning if you change the settings.

I hope you understand what I mean, because I can only read and not write in english^^

That's funny; I can write but can't read and I think you're doing a fine job.

Until Sansdisk releases an update that allows the player to read a cue file (hence instantly enabling gapless playback), I personally won't be taking any updates - I simply don't need any as my player works just fine as it is (except for lack of gapless - which is very annoying).

FLACtastic,

May I ask what version of firmware are you running in your fuze that you like so much that your going to stick too? At least to the point of gapless playback? George

*His* 8GB Silver Fuze v01.02.31A also 8GB MicroSDHC card installed *Hers* 4GB red Fuze with 16GB micro SDHC card! Firmware v01.02.31A still installed. Acquired another 8GB Fuze also with firmware v01.02.31A now..

Boycotting updates seems pretty silly. You don't know what small bugfixes may be in there.

I have the current 1.02.26, set to English and (important to get rid of Slot Radio icon) Region: Rest of the World. Works fine.

The 1.02.26 is not the "current" firmware. Smiley Wink
