Anyway to turn off the screen when the player is charging? It’s a big waste of electricity having the screen on when it’s doing nothing but charging:robotsad:
Nope…

Get a wall charger.
Sort of irrelevant, but I wouldn’t really call it a “big” waste of power. A tiny LCD screen like that doesn’t use more than a few watts.
I agree it’s not a big waste but it surely is pointless.
Wouldn’t charging go faster with the LCD turned off?
Of any component of a diskless music player, the screen surely is the biggest power consumer.
(Without suggesting this as a reason to switch, I think Rockbox has this issues nailed. When you move the slider to the ‘hold’ position, the screen turns off.)

Yes it would…wall charger can accomplish this for just a few dollars…well worth the investment, as it also lets you listen while you charge.

Screen turns off after one hour when USB connected. Also , on the AC charger or dock, the screen turns off in seconds during charging.
ok cool, I’ll get a wall charger.
