FM radio plays ok on my daughter’s fuze, but there is only static when playing mp3. Music appears to play (it says “now playing”, and the progress bar is going), and it can be paused and unpaused (static goes away while paused). I’ve tried formatting, resetting factory settings, and updating firmware. The results are the same with different earphones. Any ideas?
Have you tried playing the same file on the computer? Connect the Fuze to the computer, find the file on the Fuze and play it from WIndows Media Player (or Winamp or whatever you use). My guess is that the file itself is bad.
If it plays correctly from WMP, then get the Gspot Codec Appliance and find out exactly what kind of file it is.
