Can we undo firmware update?

I just manually updated the firmware on my Sansa Fuze v1.01.07 player to v1.02.31 (1/20/2010) and am very disappointed. The “update” added some adware for Slot Radio and changed the way you navigate through the menus: I prefer the precise click method to the wild turning of the wheel. I could not find the original firmware version. Does anybody know where I might be uble to find an older version of the firmware, so I can remove the pesky “Slot Radio” adware?

Using the Search function here, you can find all updates posted and choose the one you want to revert back to:

Thanks for your kind response. After spending nearly an hour sifting through related posts, often ending up with a dead link, I had to give up. Is there a page where older versions of the firmware can be downloaded?

I just looked at Tapeworm’s link. Each of the threads near the top (I didn’t go any further) includes a link that, when clicked, will have your computer download software. Make sure your computer doesn’t have some virus control, popup-stopper, etc. Those are live links.

You can also follow this formula and insert the number of the firmware you want at the end (followed by .zip)

Three examples:

http://mp3support.sandisk.com/firmware/fuze/fuze02.02.28.zip

You need to look at Settings/System Settings/Info to see if you have a version 1 or 2 Fuze–they are different hardware taking different firmware (beginning with 1.x  or 2.x).  2.x firmare  is not an upgrade of 1.x --it is just different.

The links on that search page work fine for me.

Yes, the URLs to the less recent versions work; but I was hoping to roll back to an earlier version (01.01.11), to ensure I’d be free of the Slot Radio adware. But that link “post” is invalid:

Oh well, I’ll try v1.02.26 from Black-Rectangle. If I still get the pesky adware, I’ll learn to live with it. Thanks for your patience.

By the way, you can get rid of Slot Radio by choosing Rest of the World as your region in Settings

I had the Fuze very early and I don’t remember navigation changing at all through the many updates. Both clicking and using the wheel work.
