Thank you. While I’m not happy about having to lay out added cash for the “luxury” of playback while charging, at least now I know it’s possible.
there is a little work around if you are good with a little piece of scotch tape
all you need to do is cut a small piece of scotch tape just big enough to cover the center 2 pins of the USB connector (the side that connects to the computer) the center 2 pins are used for data and if they are covered the player will charge but it will not connect to the computer. i have a few different sansas that use the same cable so i have one set up for this and one for data transfer but it is pretty easy to remove and replace the tape if you only have one cable.
