I had problems with this when first plugging in the clip so I thought I would add the solution to the forum:
For the Clip 2 gigabyte and Clip 8 gigabyte:
To get “MTP device found” message to go away you have to switch to msc mode by turning the device on and using the down arrow on the bottom of the circular navigation wheel to get to settings. Then you go to usb mode and then you choose msc.
