sansa clip 8 g

just got clip, transferred audiobook, it’s stored in music, not audiobooks

Well, then, whatever you used to transfer the files did not do as you wanted, presumably.

Simply connect the player to your computer and drag the files where you want them to be, just as you uld do with files on your computer–presumably, to the Audiobooks folder.

Well, then, whatever you used to transfer the files did not do as you wanted, presumably.  You don’t say what you did to transfer the files–did you set matters to transfer the files into the Audiobooks folder (it doesn’t happen by itself, magically and automatically . . .)?

It really depends where the audiobooks came from.

The Sansa doesn’t know what’s in an mp3 file unless it is placed in the right folder (Audiobooks) or tagged as an audiobook (in the ID3 tags, the electronic labels in the files).  Otherwise the Sansa assumes all mp3 files are music. Wouldn’t you?

If your audiobook is from a library, you may need to set the Sansa to MTP mode and transfer it from the library’s media player/console (like Overdrive) so that its hidden digital-rights codes are also transferred.

Or if you got the audiobook elsewhere, it may be sloppily tagged. You could use tagging software like mp3tag (free)  to make sure the Genre tag reads Audiobooks.

Or, as suggested above,  place it manually into the Audiobooks folder.
