mp3tag question

Many people here seem to be fans of the mp3tag program, so maybe someone could help me. There are certain files which can’t be tagged for some reason, they have an “APEv2” tag, unlike most others, which are “ID3v2”.

I believe by default, MP3tag does not read nor write ape tags.  This can be changed in the TOOLS>OPTIONS menu.

Problem solved: I made the following changes in the options menu: read ID3v1, ID3v2 and APE, write ID3v2 (ID3v2.3 UTF-16) and remove APE. After that I selected the files and used the “remove tag” command.

You should change that to ID3v2.3 ISO 8859-1. That’s the version least likely to give you tag-related headaches.

I chose UTF-16 because that was suggested in a tutorial I found on the anythingbutipod forum, but if you say ISO is better I’ll change to that. Thanks.
