location of older firmware

I have several clip+ players. The first ones I bought had firmware 01.01.05A version and worked fine for me. The last ones I bought had version 01.02.15p (latest) and these have problems with disappearing files on the external microSDHC. I have checked and verified that it is NOT the microSDHC chips as these all work as advertised on the first players so what I need to do is load the older firmware to correct this problem.

Where do I find the older firmware, specifically 01.01.05A?

Thanks,

Perazim

An archive of the Clip+ firmware that SanDisk has separately issued.  I don’t believe that SanDisk ever separately issued the firmware version you originally had, however.  The archive starts with version 01.02.15.

(The Anythingbutipod Clip/Clip+ forum also has an archive of the available original Clip firmware, by the way.)

I do wonder about your situation, as I don’t recall hearing that newer firmware has caused a microSD card issue (a pretty big issue for SanDisk).  Could it be the content on the card?  What happens when you put the card in your first ClIp+ players–do the missing files show up?

I also wonder if a format using the SD Association’s formatter tool might help.

It starts with 01.02.15 because that was the most recent, but there are a few earlier ones following it…the earliest being 01.02.09.

Cool–thanks. I didn’t read through the archive thread (too lazy).

Well, I am the author of that post, after all…so I know what’s there. The links to the different firmwares are all in that first post

Yes, indeedy, scrolling down does help!

I reformatted using the recommended formatter. This SEEMS to have resolved the problem. Will know for sure over the next few days. Thanks
