Screen was partly black, now it's fully black

Hello,

I noticed that my SanDisk Mp3 Player became partly black after a run. The blackness was at the top right corner of the screen (where the battery meter is located).  After a while the blackness “spread” towards the top left screen and then to the whole screen.  Now I can’t see anything, except the “connected” message if I really look into it when it’s charging.  My computer recognizes it, but I can’t seem to navigate its menus.

I bought it less than an year ago from Amazon.  Should I call tech support after I try to reset it and update the firmware?

Correction: title should read Screen was partly black,  NOW it’s fully black

Absolutely call tech support; it’s still under warranty. But I wouldn’t bother resetting it or re-applying the firmware. Neither one is going to help. Your OLED screen is failing.

Definitely time to call customer service . . . .
