Empty recordings

Hi,

I’ve tried for the first time today to use my Sansa Clip+ as a voice recorder. Everythings seems to work okay, except that I only get empty records. The same problem occurs with radio recording.

I thought it might be a memory issue, but I got more than 1Go of free space.

As anybody any clue ?

Thx

You go to Voice or Radio/Recording and then press Record now, and you should see the time indicator changing. Then you press Stop and then you hvae to click Yes when it asks to Save Recording.  Pause, or just Stop, willl not save the recording.

Is a file saved that is playable but blank?

Or when you go to Voice/Listen to Recordings do you only see [Empty]?

Yes, I followed this exact procedure.

The file is saved, playable, but blank.

Maybe you need to turn up the volume before recording. Do some experimenting.

Do you mean the Clip’s output volume using the player’s mechanical volume up/down controls?  Does that affect the recordig level?  (I wasn’t aware of that, if it does–but I almost never record with the Clip.)

Thanks for your help. But I tried with maximum volume, speaking loadly, and it does not change anything. Any other idea ?

It couldn’t hurt to renstall the firmware.

Use the manual method–don’t bother installing the updater.
