Clip+ battery dries out within minutes

Hi,

I purchased Clip+ player about a month ago. It was fine until now, but yesterday when I went to the gym,  the battery was 48% full, when I got to the gym (5-7 mins walk) , after some 5-10 mins it turned to 0%.
I tried charging it, but it’s acting weirdly… from 5% it can become 87% and then all of a sudden 34%…
By the way, maybe this is a coincidence, but there’s like one black stripe on the screen, to the left of the screen…

I tried installing Rockbox and then changing back to the original firmware via SansaUpdater. Didn’t help…

Your battery is defective.  If you can, return/exchange it at the retailer that you bought it from.  If it’s pass that time, you can contact Sandisk Tech Support about a warranty replacement.  In the U.S. call 1-866-726-3475 for a quicker response.

By the way, installing Rockbox voids Sandisk’s warranty and it’s not meant to be a cure-all for issues with the player.   But you can try to contact Tech Support anyway.

I bought it second hand… Don’t know what to do…
Is it possible to buy a battery for clip+ and replace it by myself?

by the way, today I went to the gym with 100% battery and after a one and a half hour workout the battery showed 99%. It’s clearly messed up…

I’ve never attempted to do that kind of repair job myself, but maybe the links below will be helpful.  Good luck with it.

If possible, I’d go back to the seller, unless the seller sold it “as is” without regard to functionality such as the battery.
