Clip + External micro

Can anyone help:

 Purchesed a new Clip +   Works fine on 4 gig internal m emory

Installed external 8 gig and loaded it several ways (sync; drag& drop; on a computer slot)

Clip will only show external folder as “empty”   Seems to be a library problem as the music is there

Is the memory card inserted all the way? You’ll hear 2 faint clicks as it locks into place and the top of the card just be just about fluch with the player’s casing.

If you go into Settings > System Settings > Info and scroll down does the card show as being recognized there? It will show the amount of available space both in the internal memory and the card separately.

What folder? Are you navigating to the folders menu under music? The Clip+ sorts music based on tags. The folders function is not true folder browsing but rather a recreation from the music database based on the tags. If the music is not tagged properly, then the folders function might not work properly. The Clip+ needs tags that are ID3v2.3 iso 8859-1. it would be nice if Sandisk eventually develops true folder browsing for its future players which does not rely on the music database.

Thanks;

Card is in all the way and ext memory does show in folders.

Next forum comment mentions TAGS.

I’ll have to look into that. Interesting **bleep** promo on the box says’your “good to go”

OK     -  No mention in the manual of “TAGS”

It seems to be a library problem as the music is there, Clip see the memory used but the Music folder comes up empty.

HOW DO I SOLVE THIS

The free program mp3Tag is excellent for editing tags.
