Amplifier for Clip+

I running into a problem when using the Cilp+ in my vehicles aux jack, and when connecting it to my hearing protection headphones for my shop.  I have to turn the volume on the Clip+ up almost all the way (I have the High volume set) just to hear the music (I am not trying to make my ears bleed).

From reading the various posts, it appears that I need an amplilfier of some sort to go between the Clip+ and the vehicle/headphones.

Is this a correct understanding, and if so, is there such a thing out ther, and if so, are their any suggestions as to brand/make/model/etc.?

You can try the Fiio E5, which I use with my Clip+ and my Koss PortaPro headphones.  It works incredibly well and is pretty cheap.
