Adjust Gain on Voice Recording

I use my Clip+ to record chorus rehearsals that I then use for practice.  Is there any way to modify the gain/recording volume on the device to prevent recording distortion?

Or can you suggest an Audacity tutorial for making adjustments post-recording?

The short answer? No.

There are ways to boost the db level post recording, but you have to realize this device wasn’t designed or built to do what you’re trying to do with any degree of fidelity. It’s basically a personal note-taker, that’s it.

Any attempt to up the volume on an already low qualtiy recordiing is only going to amplify the shortcomings of the low bit-rate.
