I’ve been transferring videos from my iphone 8 plus to my ixpand drive. But when i try to watch them on my computer it keeps saying i need additional software and sometimes it will only play the audio without video. If i connect my phone directly to the computer via usb cable and transfer the videos then they play fine. Is there a setting i need to change?
are these videos shot on the iOS device? if you have iOS 11 or above the default codec will be h.265 or as apple calls it HEVC. this may not be supported with all video playback apps. I would suggest going to the iOS settings > Camera > Formats and set it to most compatible and then it will shoot in h.264 which is more widely compatible.
