Used Toolkit to create a USB boot flash drive for updating the firmware of my 240G SSD Extreme.
SSD is brand new and unformatted. Toolkit runs in Win7-64bit and recognizes the SSD, including SMART info.
Notebook booted from USB flash drive, but just hangs without showing me the list of drives.
First line on screen shows the SYSLINUX loaded
Second line on screen shows BZIMAGE loaded
Third line on screen shows RAMDISK.GZ loaded........ready.
And a blinking cursor on the fourth line, that blinks forever.
So how do I proceed?
System is a HP dv4t-1000

if you have multiple drives connected o the computer try disconnecting them and only having the SSD connected. This worked for another user with the issue.

Thanks, but I tired that. I removed my original spining boot drive and only had the SSD in my notebook. Still, the update halted at "RAMDISK.GZ loaded........ready."
Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the tip. I read on other forums that HP notebooks often poses problems with booting from USB flash drives, because the BIOS is configured to recognize them as USB floppies or something like that!
I will give the CD ISO method a try next week.
Thanks for the confirmation!
