DASHBOARD misunderstandings?

happy with SANDISK SSDs in several laptops, and only now after the
oldest one is 1+ year old the first questions come up.

for most of you these will be simple ones:

 - in the DASHBOARD 1.02 the LIFE REMAINING shows for example 95%,
on the far right. now does that indicate (as i read it) that i have 95% left, and

only 5% are used, or, as others tell me, i  have 95% used and the disk is

   near its end?

 - under TRIM, it says DEVICE SUPPORTS TRIM for all of my disks.
when i then start a manual trim, it starts, then quickly comes
up with ‘‘Operation failed w error code: #121’’ - always.

 - do i need such external tools as ForceTrim to override this?

 - to completely renovate a SSD, and put it back into a pristine
condition, i read that only a ‘‘secure erase’’ will do (after
having proper backups). again on the forum here i read that
SANDISK does not provide such an erasure program, but that one
has to use an external one.

could it be that this is old and outdate info? DASHBOARD 1.02
certainly has such a ‘‘erase’’ function - is that one not good enough

to put the SSD back into as-good-as-new condition?

any hints and tips most welcome and appreciated.

Hi heinz57g,

Can you generate a report from the Help tab and attach it here?

Thanks

well, most of my questions were just answered, i have 95% life left, and

the secure erase from within the dashboard will do what i want.

only thing left is the TRIM feature coming up with an error. so if i find a

way to attache a file here, i will do so with the report.

greetings, and many thanks to both oif you         - heinz -

PS; well, did not find anything for attachments, so will try to send a PM.

this forum/board is certainly different - even in the PM

section i did not find any way to add an attachment.
