Which video formats work?

So I’ve got some videos in h264, XVID, and various other formats…NONE of which work on the SanDisk Connect Media Drive. So, which formats DO work? I am connecting to the media drive with Kindle Fire HDs that have been converted to Android using N2AOS. So far I get the error of either the file format isn’t supported and to use Real Player, or, I can watch the video for h264 videos but I don’t get audio.

Will plain .avi work?
