can you please tell me why?

Some playlist only show few titles in the Clip player, but not all titles in the playlist.

In your non-working file list:

Try to shorten the name of the subfolder to something like this:

         J:\Music\MP3 Symphony\     or maybe    J:\Music\MP3 Beethoven

Try to shorten your file titles  (delete “Beethoven - Symphony”  to something like this:

#1-1 Adagio molto.mp3      [you will need to edit the ID3 tags to match the shorter title]

Maybe just test a few files and see what happens?

Also, I am not sure what the drive letter J: is contributing in your list?

Best Wishes

Also, what software are you using to compile your playlist?  I get best results using mp3tag software.

        http://www.mp3tag.de/en/download.html

Shortened the folder name to Symphony and short file names to Adagio, same result,

We have another folder and file name even longer

MP3 Mozart Horn-Clarinet-Trumpet-Bassoon-Flute Concerto

This playlist works fine.

We use both Winamp and Windows Media Player and just simple Notepad typing to create the playlist. Same results.

Since your question is new in this Forum, hopefully a few more expert users will provide better advice for you.

All I can say is my experience is with using mp3tag to create playlists that are saved inside subfolders in the Music folder of the Clip Sport (internal and external).  The playlist file structure using mp3tag does not look like yours.

Here is a brief summary:

                   1st line

#EXTM3U

All other entries look like this:

#EXTINF : 3-digit number , Artist - Title [line feed] subfolder\filename

#EXTINF : 3-digit number , Artist - Title [line feed] subfolder\filename

Thank you. This is what I understand:

You probably pick up your mp3 form a CD, thus, song number, etc. These are not relevant to identify the mp3 title inside the player?

The #EXTINF: line is just for information only. It is not used by the player.

Thanks for the reply.

The 3-digit numbers inserted by the mp3tag software are not part of the file names and are not found in the ID3 tags.

These numbers are confusing but simple to ignore, since I am always pleased with the playlist execution by my Clip Sport.

ALSO, just to be clear:

Mp3tag software can be used to create a playlist of files that reside in one subfolder or several subfolders or all subfolders within the Music folder on the player OR in the Music folder on the micro SD card.

The m3u files can be saved in the Music folder or within any subfolder within the Music folder.

Internal and External files should not be merged into the same playlist.

The player can only access one drive source at a time.

** The mp3tag software eliminates the need to manually edit any playlists with Notepad type software **

I have no idea of it

Then why did you place a post, and 2 months later?

Then why did you place a post, and 2 months later?  A waste of electrons and others’ time.

Playlists don’t work for me either. Not a single one. I’ve created them with Mp3tag, VLC, manually. I’ve let mp3tag create a list from the files on the player. No go. No matter what I do, when I try to run the m3u I get “File format not supported”.

I have the same problem. Or worse, I don’t get any playlist to work. I’ve created them with Mp3tag, VLC, manually… I even let Mp3tag create one from the files on the player. No go. When I select the m3u file I get “File format not supported”. Neither does it show up in the Playlists folder as I read it should.

Playlists are only used by the player in Music Mode and for Music in Card Mode.
