i can not for the life of me get the updater to download to my computer.  So, i want to manually do it, but i dont see a “root” folder when i open up the clip on my computer.  This is what I have … do i drop the file in the version.sdk folder?  Im at a loss.  Thanks

The “root” directory is the uppermost directory. It is what you have listed in your post. Drop the extracted firmware file here, NOT in any of the folders, but rather alongside them.

And are you referring to the Updater program or a specific player firmware update?  If the latter, that’s what you put into the player’s root directory.  If the former, quite candidly, I’d skip it–it sits on your PC consuming some small resources and rarely does anything–you always can check for and get a new player firmware (which likely will be rare, if ever at this point) simply by coming here to the forum and checking if there is one.
