Connecting to i9S-TWS airpod

I recently purchased i9S-TWS airpod’s and can find them when I search  on my ScanDiisk but am unable to connect. I’ve tried resetting the factory settings, swtiching on & off but it still doesn’t work.

I can connect via bluetooth to speakers but not the airpods and wondered if anyone else had come accross this issue recently and solved it?

I should have added that the aipods do work as tested with my phone & they connected straightaway.
