I have just gotten a Sandisk card and when I put it into the card slot... the light comes on but nothing happens on my computer..... any help appreciate

Are you using a card reader? Maybe it's bad.

What size is the card? If it's over 2GB, it's SDHC format. Maybe your card reader is old & doesn't support that newer format, or your computer needs a Windows update to recognize it.

Try to use your camera as a means of reader.
