Why is the random write performance for record size 8-128 kB slower compared with record size 4 kB?

Hello,

What is the reason that the random write performance with a record size of 8, 16, 32, 64 and 128 kB is slower as with 4 kB record size?

This phenomenon occurs with many SD cards of different manufacturers. Not only San Disk.

Is this phenomenon caused by the number of AUs (segments) the controller caches?

Hello.

Up to now I was not able to find a correct answer for the question.

Has anybody here in this forum a deep knowledge about the way, how NAND flash controllers in SD cards operate?
