Risk of using CF card as HD alternative for an Intel Processor based SBC

Hi,

I am would appreciate some expert opion regarding the expected risk to our product for using CF card as HD alternative for an Intel Processor based Single Board Computer used as an Application Server.

We expect there will be 1 - 2 MB of system log files (rotating) that may be generated on a daily basis for extended periods.  Considering there is some limit to the number of memory writes that will be supported by the CF card.

What is the typical life expentancy under this type of usage?

Look forward to any insight.

Thanks

Hello,

in that case i would recommend using a specialized card in order to make sure that it will store the data correctly inside and prevend dataloss because the normal CF retail cards are recommended for normal usage in a camera or computer as normal storage device. so in that case i would suggest contacting sandisk direct to ask which specific card to use with your computer.
