SDHC/Video file Question

Hi, All,

I’m looking at this SDHC:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820141242

and am wondering: a) do folks think it work with the Sansa Connect b) if it does, can video be loaded onto the card and then played from the card?

Thanks for any help,

Jake

I haven’t tested with that card.

I know it will work with Sandisk microSDHC up to the currently available 8GB.

Here’s some good deals

Those look good.  I don’t have a reader.  Can I hook the Sansa Connect to the computer, download video files to the SDHC, and watch the videos on the card itself?

Thanks,

Jake

That is the card I’m using with mine, and it works flawlessly.  I loaded 2 videos via card reader; no problems.  All files are less than 200MB.

BEWARE, video files transfer extremely slow.  1.5GB=30min.  I have multiple PCs so this is not a problem.

If you want a faster card, go with Sandisk.  BTW 720kbps is overkill, 512 is plenty.

Good to know, about the NewEgg-sold card.  So you’ve actually watched a movie on the card, in your Sansa Connect?  Also, I don’t have a reader–can I pop the card into the Sansa, hook the device to the computer, and download videos to it?

Thanks,

Jake

You can use the Sansa Media Converter or drag & drop videos formatted for the Sansa Connect onto the MicroSD card.

Yes, the movies will play on the Connect from the card.  I’ve use PQI Green Label for RAM and now this flash card, never a problem, but I’ve read that PQI Red Label is junk.  For a couple bucks more, I would go with Greig’s recommendation of the Sandisk, it’s worth it for a faster card.

Great–many thanks for your helpful tips and clarifications.  Hadn’t known much about SDHC cards, let alone that they came in “red” and “green” flavors.
