One thing to consider is, the firmware upgrade support that SanDisk will–and will not–be providing for the players: presumably, firmware upgrades will proceed for the Clip Zip, and will cease, at some point sooner, for the Clip+. If SanDisk brings back in a firmware upgrade for the Clip Zip’s music what’s playing screen the current track info. (time elapsed and time remaining, and track no./total tracks), I likely would recommend the Clip Zip over the Clip+ at this point, for new purchases–it’s just the incremental advantages of getting the latest in the line (where, as here, the latest is not a devolution).
