Is there a way to manually delete my clip zip music database, so that the next time it starts up it will catalogue music as if it were doing it for the first time?
I seem to have a 32gb microsd memory card which one of its files is corrupting my clip zip music database where all of the internal memory and external microsd memory card folder names get formatted to gibberish characters and becomes un-browsable. I dont want to delete current content from internal memory as I know its the external card causing both the internal and external memory music database to be corrupted.
Here is a link to when I first experienced this problem:
So what I want to do is just eject my external microsd memory card from my clip zip, delete music database file with my computer, restart clip zip, and then the clip zip will re-database its internal memory with no problems, so how do I do that?

So it seems like there is something on my microSD card that CONFUSES my Zip player and garbles all of the folder names (including both internal and external Zip files), but I insert the same card to my Sansa Clip+ and the Sansa Clip+ can read all of the files and folders fine (minus my itunes files.) I am not impressed by the new Clip Zip based on my stellar experience with the Clip+ so frustrating!
There’s been a lot of confusion and issues with iTunes AAC files with the Zip. Some work, some don’t. Some seem to cause other anomilies. I’m not positive this is related to your issue, but why don’t you try removing these files from the card, and see if that makes a difference when you insert it back into your Zip?
Is your firmware up-to-date? It’s 01.01.18 and has a bug fix for ACC files encoded with Microsoft mp4-2 variable bit rate. I don’t know if your itunes songs are causing any issues, but it may help.
Bad news: In the process of loading music onto my Clip Zip player 32gb SanDisk memory card I can only explain that the clip zip player battery died in the process of scanning new music I loaded onto the memory card. The player is dead and I have had it plugged in recharging and nothing is displaying on the screen. I press the power button and the player doesn’t turn on, so I don’t know if the battery wont recharge but the player wont start up.
Anybody experience this also?
I was running the most up to date firmware on the Clip Zip.
Well I finally figured out that the only way for the Clip Zip to recognize the itunes music I was trying to load into the memory card was through the player itself. Meaning if I loaded all of the mp3/m4a music from a Card Reader/Writer onto the memory card then inserted the memory card into the clip zip: the clip zip filenames would become all garbage characters. But if I loaded the music directly to the memory card within the clip zip player itself then the filename characters would be read correctly.
I have had the Clip+ for years with no problems, unlike the Clip Zip which I have had too many problems.
