Can the firmware on this player be updated?

I had an mp3 CD player that had firmware updates that were transfered to the player by burning them to a disk, then placing it in the player. Can the Slotmusic firmware be updated by placing it on a card and placing the card in the player? If so, this player would become much more useful if a function is added to advance or go back one folder at a time on the player.
