Ultra Fit 128GB disconnects during large file copies over USB 3.0

Hi All,

I recently got a 128GB SanDisk Ultra Fit drive. I’ve noticed that during large file copies (10GB+), the drive gets very hot and seems to disconnect, interrupting the transfer. I’ve tried multiple computers, Windows and MAC, and multiple file systems, but the issue is the persists. The only work-around I’ve found is to plug the drive into a USB 2.0 port, where file transfers drop to only 10MB/s, but at least finish. This makes me suspect it is a heat issue as one would imagine USB 2.0 mode uses less power due to the inherit bottleneck of the slower interface.

Does anyone else experience this problem? Wondering if I have a faulty drive or if this is a design fault, in which I’ll be asking SanDisk for an alternative replacement drive.

Same issue here, I am using 32 GB ultra fit flash drive. Now it’s totally useless cause it connects & reconnects every now and then. :confounded:
