Sandisk 32gb cruzer blade ntfs partion problem

I tried to make a bootable flash drive for ubunto 14.04 with the glide.  I used Ubuntu from a previous sandisk bootable drive to boot a Latitude E6410 with Ubuntu 14.04  and run gparted to put 4 partitions on the the new drive.  It ran for literally 3 days before I stopped it.  It did not take that long the first time I made a drive.  Any suggestions on what to try to do this?

ntfs!!!  For 4 Linux partitions!!  Why??!  Use ext4 or even FAT32 for your partitions but certainly not ntfs.

Try using Power ISO for a bootable flash drive and see how this works for you.
