SanDisk Cruzer Blade USB flash drive is write protected, I've tried everything.

Hello, my name is Hellnickell.

I’ve been trying to use a SanDisk Cruzer Blade USB flash drive (32GB), however, whenever I plug it on my computer, it says it’s write protected.

Another problem is that I also need to format it, and the USB has a lot of important files which I’d like to keep on my USB.

Here’s a list of everything I’ve already tried doing.

  • Using Diskpart (yes, I ran cmd.exe as an administrator).
  • Setting the QWORD named “WriteProtect” in  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies to 0 (didn’t work).
  • Using the  CHKDSK E: /F command on the Command Prompt (just gave me an error).

Please help me.

It looks like you need a replacement.  Copy your files on it to your hard drive and return it to SanDisk for a free replacement.

If your files are in SecureAccess be sure to extract them from SecureAccess to your hard drive.
