Well, if (a) is the default, how is it that drives I’ve never modified both came out of the packaging set to “Optimize for performance”, i.e. I have to stop them using the system tray instruction before I remove them?
All I can say is that I had the problem myself and what I described solved it. It could just be luck or coincidence.
