Help with deleting file

Can the folder System Volume Information and the file inside, Indexer Volume Guid be deleted.

I have formatted this key 4 times and still can’t get rid of this folder and file.

Want a clean disk drive, not one with stuff I can’t control.

Yes, so long as you don’t use Windows.

Windows is the most common but some use Apple OSs.  With Windows, drives seen as Fixed rather than Removable get the System Volume Information folder and I’m not aware of any way to disable that feature.  It can be hidden by setting Explorer to not display system files.
