The new shape of the flash drives is odd. It’s not too bad if you can see the USB port and you’re “pinching” the end, but lots of times you can’t see the port (ie. computer is on the floor, etc.) and you have to insert it by feeling for the port. The tapered end tends to slip out of your fingers if you’re holding across it.
The larger hole for attaching a cord is a nice improvement.
