I've the same problem too.
I used my Sandisk Cruizer Edge (32Gb) on Windows 7 x64 and Mac Os X 10.7.x for a long time, but from some days I'm unable to add, change or delete files on both OS. I've checked on the Disk Management (under Windows) and I've noticed that the flash-pen is "Read Only" but I'm unable to change that status.
Tried even with SecureAccess but nothing... I'm unhappy

I tried also to run C:\Windows\system32\diskpart.exe
select volume # (replacing sharp with the number of the usb flash-pen)
attributes disk clear readonly
attributes volume clear readonly ... but here again the error...
the flash-pen is in "health status"
even with HDDGuru Low Level Formatt I take this:
16/09/2012 15:44:27 Format Error occurred at offset 9,895,936: 19 - The media is write protected
Have I to turn back to Kingston's DataTraveler??

If you read some of the threads on this board, you see that there are many with the same problems.
The only known solution is to return the drive.

No, not too bad, too bad. Contact SanDisk tell them your situation and serial number of your flash drive. They will then give you instructions on how and where to return it for a replacement. You don't need a receipt or a box.
Important files = Backed up files

This is a good news... but wait a sec... where I can find the serial number... Is the number printed on the usb "SDCZ81-..." ??
Another ask to you, Mr. Ed_P... the warranty life is valid for my Ultra II 8GB SDHC card too? (I bought it late in June 2008 when I purchased my camera together the SanDisk MicroMate SD/SDCH Card Reader)
Anyway many thanks !
