My mp3 player is kinda old, but worked real nice. One day it just wouldn’t go past the tile screen. And after connecting it to the computer, the computer did not recognize it. I was just wondering if there is any way that i can fix this. Plz help!!!
Sounds like a job for Recovery Mode. I’ll update this post tonight for you.
In a nutshell, if the device freezes on the SanDisk screen, the firmware file may be corrupted. You can reinstall the firmware by following the directions inthis thread.
The biggest problem is that the device isn’t communicating. Recovery Mode will establish a USB connection for you, but you must be careful when in this mode. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FORMAT THE DEVICE USING THE WINDOWS FORMAT COMMAND WHEN IN RECOVERY MODE! It opens the “reserved partition”, where the Sansa’s operating system resides.
