Windows XP will not recognize my brand new My Passport Ultra 2TB

I just bought a My Passport Ultra 2TB portable hard drive to backup my old computer so I can put all my music and photos on my new computer. When i plug in the portable drive it is not recognized by my computer at all when I click on my computer.
I had a 3 TB drive and was told that Windows XP has a 2TB limit to recognize a portable hard drive.
Since that is what i went out and bought I am confused as to why my computer will not recognize it.
Can anyone assist please?

Hi DSURE,

You should try after reformatting the drive in MBR partition table. Note: It’s a data destructive process and can’t be restore after format.
