Windows 7 will not start with Passport Essential SE 750G

When I start computer with ED connected, the computer will not start -I  just get a blinking cursor in upper left corner

Any ideas out there?!

Go into the BIOS and check the boot order. If USB is listed first move it down after HD.

Sorry to be so ignorant here, but how do I get into BIOS to see this?

You’ll have to look on your manufacturers site. Usually by taping or holding a F key dirung boot it varies with manufacturers see if this helps http://www.ehow.com/how_4533733_change-boot-order-bios.html
