Windows 10 installation error


Can you give more details about the issue you are seeing. SSD Dasahboard is supposed to install and work without any problems on Windows 10.

I’ve reinstalled 1.4.1 and that installs fine, then run update and I get this error message

Windows 10 Pro x64. I got the very same thing when trying to upgrade my original SSD Dashboard version. I installed SanDiskSSDDashboardService.exe before installing SanDiskSSDDashboardSetup.exe after failure of upgrade installation such as you have described. Setup then proceeded normally to completion You will find both installation files in the Program Files(x86)\Sandisk\SSD Dashboard folder after the failed installation. This upgrade setup faliure evidently has something to do with services. My original clean installation completed without a hitch. Suggests clean installation ONLY - upgrades will fail as you have shown. Go figure :wink:


Please uninstall your current version and make sure the SanDisk folder under “Program Files” or “Program Files (x86)” is clean.

When installing version 1.4.2, make sure the file “SanDiskSSDDashboardServiceSetup.msi” is present in the SSD Dashboard folder and that looking at the properties, the digital signature is from SanDisk and valid. Somehow that disgital signature was incorrect with the previous installer. Please report any issues regarding this, for example if you see an invalid digital signature. Thanks  

@georgealon  : your installation tips don’t work, first because the installer file isn’t a msi file, but it’s an exe file. Then, even if the SanDisk folder under “Program Files” or “Program Files (x86)” is clean, the installation failed. I don’t know what exactly what it occurs, and why the installation failed each time.

Digital signature for my SanDisk SSD Dashboard Service Setup property shows Microsoft corporations. Is this why I can not update my pc to current 1.4.2?

The digital signature should be from SanDisk not Microsoft. You have the wrong installer. Please download the new 1.4.2 setup file (again).

I’m sorry that I didn’t explain myself well.  I ment say that a file of SanDiskSSDDashboardServiceSetup.msi property of digital signature is Microsoft.  NOT SanDisk.  Now what do I do?


Same problem here. 1.4.2 will not install over 1.4.1 (Windows 10).  Solution is to remove 1.4.1 from Control Panel before clean installing 1.4.2.


The digital signature should be from SanDisk not Microsoft and that’s why it fails to tinstall.

We found this issue and replaced the SanDiskSSDDashboardSetup.exe file on our cloud server. The new file is now with SanDisk disgital signature. Unfortunatly, sometimes Windows caches downloaded files and even after downloading the new updated file, it will launch the old one. Try to reset your cache and download the file from SanDisk support site again.

I was notified update 1.4.2 by Sandisk SSD Dashboard at yesterday.

But failed update 1.4.1 to 1.4.2 

I can’t search the 1.4.1 anywhere.

Please someone upload legacy version.


Try to reset your cache and download the file from SanDisk support site again.

What worked for me.

  1. Download

  2. Try to install SanDiskSSDDashboardSetup.exe

  3. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\SanDisk\SSD Dashboard

  4. Find and double click SanDiskSSDDashboardSetup.exe there.

It worked for me. However, before I disabled digital signature. I don’t know if it is mandatory.

I had the same problem with Windows 10 64bit.

Ended up deleting the Sandisk folder from the x86 Programs folder and then running the install again for 1.4.3 and it worked fine for me.

Must be something in their installer that doesn’t like things exisiting and it doesn’t know what to do so fails install.

Try these steps to fix windows 10 installtion error:

Step 1:  First you have to create a Restore Point on your Windows PC

Step 3:  Disable Wireless option from BIOS

To do this first close all the program and shutdown your PC.
