Win 7 won't assign drive letter

I have an Elements 25A2 that I use as a portable drive, it worked fine up until last week when I plugged it into a BELL Sat Receiver to use as a PVR… the BELL did some sort of format on the 25A2 so it would work.

Now when I plug the 25A2 into my laptop or my PC it makes the “USB noise” but does not pop up nor does Win7 assign it a drive letter.

I formatted the 25A2 in Windows in NTFS

I have to go into disk management and assign a drive letter to the 25A2 for it to work.
I have to do this every time now, on my Win7 PC and my Win7 laptop.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave
