Will WD2500MEW -00 1609A work on a MAC?

Hi

Can anyone help? A friend has a WD2500MEW-00 1609A ( as per label on the bottom!). Will it work on a MAC running OS X. Version 10.6.8?

If so, what software does he need to download from WD to make it run?

Any help appreciated

While the unit itself should work after it is formatted, there are no software applications available for Mac OS 10.6.8 for this particular unit. You could use Apple Time Machine with it though.
