SANSA M240 1G
When plugged into USB screen shows USB CONNECTED MSC
When I unplug it it says REBUILDING THE LIBRARY
Then NO FILES
Then it SHUTS OFF and not will turn back on, but when connected to the USB it shows CONNECTED
The unit shows up on COMPUTER as F:\SANSA M240
When I run the UPDATER I get the option to download FIRMWARE VER. 2.2.5
FURTHER SANSA INSTRUCTIONS tell me I need FIRMWARE 4X.XXX
But the Sansa Software only gives me the option for the 2.2.5 version
I have reformatted
Done all the reset stuff
Still won’t turn on
Any help is greatly appreciated
Maybe your battery (or connection) is shot? Have you tried resetting the player as detailed in this Help article?
There were 4 different hardware versions of this player, hence the need for 4 different firmware versions. If yoiu have the 2.2.5 version you have the latest for your individual player. You cannot ‘upgrade’ to the 4.1.08 version.
I did indeed try all the help articles. It seems the 4.x version is for an older player such as mine and the newer version 2.2 will not work. Thanks
No, I don’t think you understand. It is as I stated before; different hardware versions = different firmware versions. The Updater can tell which hardware version you have connected and will only allow you to download the appropriate firmware. Therefore, if it has ‘recommened’ the 2.2.5 firmware for you player, that is the right one. Yours cannot be one that needs the 4.x version.
Oh. I see what you are saying – Have done that still get same results reset unit and all new battery. Thanks
