My WD hard disk was bought in 2010. Three weeks ago, the USB connection is broken due to travel problem. From the Google search I found a hard disk repair company in Rotterdam Alexander. They asked me to send the hard disk in DHL service. Then, three days later, they phoned me and asked me to pay 800 Euro for repair.
Five years ago, I spent only 79 euro to buy this hard disk. So I declined. Then they charged me 75 euro for diagnosis of the hard disk. In order to get my hard disk back, I paid immediately. But they didn’ send to me. I had to go to the company to pick it up. What a surprising finding! It is an empty office in a almost empty building in Rotterdam Alexander district.
Luckily, the guy gave the hard disk to me. Then, I went to Arnhem and dropped by a computer repair shop. They said, you paid 80 Euro and you can get all the data in a new hard disk. But I need to leave my hard disk to them for several days.
By the way, both Rotterdam and Arnhem guys are muslims. Due to work urgency, I cannot leave the hard disk to them for so many days.
Today I went to a Groningen computer repair shop in center. A Russian guy, even without checking the WD disk problem, said that I need to pay 250 Euro to get all my data back.
Now, I am really desparate. In the Netherlands, can we find any reliable service for WD hard disk?
None of the aforementioned service signed the privacy contract. In my hard disk I have the scanned passport and all exam data for my students.
