I have three rather old WD USB drives, of nominally 150GB capacity and model number WD1600IO32, but can’t remember what the device name was. I guess I’m getting oldtimer’s disease … I’ve plugged 'em into my Windows10/ machine, reformatted 'em, and the OS “sees” them. However, when I plug 'em into my MyBookLiveDuo’s USB port, they are acknowledged, but some of the WD software doesn’t want to talk to them. Has anybody encountered this device and remembered its name? How about this problem? Has anybody seen this situation?
The Acronis software appears to “see” the old USB drive, but not the MBLD, both of which are “seen” by the OS. That probably doesn’t mean anything, but since it’s a 160GB drive, it should be able to hold the mostly empty 2GB SSD.
Apparently this drive, MDL # 1600IO32 is capable of functioning with the Acronis software, though there’s no indication that the MDLD is so capable. I just backed up my 2TB SSD to that drive, though only 40GB of the SSD was in use so far. It’s right there on the USB drive.
BTW, do you know what name was assigned to that drive model 1600IO32 or maybe 16001032? They’ve used a font that makes it hard to distinguish between 0 and O, among other characters.
