The situation is this: I have an internal HDD whereon I store photos. I have my WD My Passport to serve as a backup. I have backed up my photos once using the WD Backup program that came with the Passport.
Now, sometimes, I go into my internal HDD and remove redundant or uninteresting photos. My question is this: if I let WD Backup do another backup of the same folders, what happens?
- Are all of my the photos currently on the internal HDD copied to the Passport in a separate backup (doubling the size of the Passport), or are only new photos added to the Passport?
- Will the Passport re-transfer photos I deleted on my internal HDD so that my internal HDD fills up again?
- Will the Passport go back into its first backup and retroactively delete the photos I deleted on the internal HDD since then?
Ideally, I would like it to be:
- No
- No
- Yes, although that wouldn’t be safe if WD Backup did backups automatically, and the user removed all of the backed up files from their internal HDD to save space. The Passport would then automatically wipe itself, essentially.
Thanks.
